Why launch an online journal?
Praxinoscope curates performance events, documents and discussions across multiple platforms — in real world venues, online journal, video log, and imprints.
This is Praxinoscope, a journal of Performance Art documents & discussions — launched to honor and elevate artworks made inside and outside our event series of the same name.
We presented our first live event, Months of the Year, on February 20, 2022 at 1642 Bar in Historic Filipinotown, Los Angeles, California. Months of the Year featured twelve live performances — poetry, song, sound art, one-act play, and film— each created in response to one of the twelve months of the calendar year.
Praxinoscope is a curated event series exhibiting twelve short performance works that each respond to a changing central theme.
Every event will be followed by performance documentation on multiple platforms — this online journal(!), YouTube videos, podcast discussions, and printed matter.
Currently, Praxinoscope seeks to review Works for Performance to select for our next event relating to Signs of the Zodiac.
